Centennial Hall Temporarily Closed

After consulting with representation from the Hanley Seniors, the Council for the Town of Hanley have decided to close the Centennial Hall till further notice. The front door will remain locked. These preventative measures are being taken to ensure the continued health and safety of the entire community, but especially those most vulnerable.

 

 

Recommendations by Chief Medical Health Officer of Saskatchewan

In response to orders made by the Chief Medical Health Officer of Saskatchewan, the Council for the  town of Hanley are following the recommendations that:

  • NO PUBLIC GATHERING of over 250 people in any one room take place;
  • NO EVENT of over 50 people with speakers or attendees who have travelled internationally in the last 14 days (as of March 13, 2020) takes place;
  • FAITH BASED ORGANIZATIONS are no longer exempt to public gathering restrictions ordering that no public gathering of over 250 people in any one room take place;
  • RESIDENTS HAVING TRAVELLED INTERNATIONALLY need to self-isolate and monitor their health for 14 days upon return. Travellers returning from within Canada are advised to self-monitor for 14 days upon return.

Social distancing means keeping at least one metre distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. This means getting rid of handshakes and hugs.

Essential services provided by the Town, such as continued clean, potable water, sewer services and snow removal will not be disrupted. The Town Office will remain open for the immediate future with extra precautions given to the sanitation of the public areas of the Centennial Hall and the Town Office; disinfecting door handles, front counter and credit/debit pin pad for safety.

The Town is aware that there are those who do not have internet access or Facebook. Please consider who you, as a neighbour and friend, might phone to ensure they are aware and if they have any practical needs to consider dropping off groceries or medications they may need.
